Childlessness is treatable
In most cases, involuntary childlessness can be treated. Artificial insemination and hormone treatments developed in the 1950s were joined in the 1970s by concepts such as test-tube methods, test-tube babies, IVF treatment and many others. These terms cover a growing choice of methods and technologies that are successful for an average of 70-80% of the couples who use all the treatments available.
Insemination and hormone stimulation have been carried out in Denmark since the 1950s. The first test-tube baby was born in England in 1978 following IVF treatment. This treatment has been available in Denmark since 1984, and was introduced here at the clinic in 1992.
Since then, we have continued to add new and enhanced techniques and more advanced treatments to our range.
In addition to conventional IVF treatment (test-tube treatment), we also offer:
We carry out thorough examinations to identify the underlying causes of infertility. This phase includes scanning the woman’s fallopian tubes and uterus, scanning her partner’s testicles and examining the DNA content of the sperm – an SDI test.
We also examine the sperm’s morphology (shape) and the male partner’s chromosomes to identify any possible microdeletions (microscopic changes in the Y chromosome). Naturally, our doctors also take sperm quality into consideration.
You are welcome to read about these and many more options on our website, which has been designed to give you a realistic and clear picture of how we reach an explanation of childlessness, and the treatments currently available.
